It's New Year's Eve This Weekend!

I can hardly believe it, but it's New Year's Eve this weekend! I hope you have some fun plans, even if it's staying home curled up with a good book. (We're having a family party with lots of board games, food, and fun.)

But I just wanted to say, if you are going out, please stay safe. You are important!

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Can anyone relate to this? Haha! I have to say I hate driving in snow, but this is sort of a perk . . .

What Are You Reading Wednesday?

I finished reading Jennifer Peel's My Ex-Mas Emergency. Oh my goodness, I loved it! So swoony and lovely. The perfect Christmas romance!

I think one of the best parts for me was that there were so many funny moments expertly intertwined with falling in love. I think the ER visits were some of my favorite scenes, but there were definitely a lot to choose from!

You can get your copy HERE

Here's the back copy:

Very few in Aspen Lake expected that I, Calista Monroe, their most notorious wild child, would ever amount to anything besides being a model prisoner. So imagine their surprise when I returned as the hospital’s newest ER doctor. Believe me, no one is more surprised than I am. I had vowed to never return, even if it was the last safe haven during the zombie apocalypse. But when my niece, Quinn, begged me to come home, I couldn’t say no. My plan is to stay out of trouble this time, and above all, avoid Quinn’s uncle Tristan—the man I love to hate and the reason I left Aspen Lake.

But trouble starts to brew when my niece gets it into her pretty head that her uncle and I need to reconcile. The devious little thing insists we deck the halls together all season long. And since I’ll do anything to make Quinn happy, I agree, believing I’m completely immune to Tristan’s charm. Except the joke’s on me. Who knew that Tristan’s biggest regret was letting me go? And the infuriating man seems willing to do everything possible to win me back. Well, it’s going to take a Christmas miracle for me to give him a second chance. Unfortunately for my plan, our chemistry could set a blizzard on fire. Now I have a major ex emergency on my hands.

Do I give my niece her Christmas wish, or do I let the love between Tristan and me flatline once and for all?

Your Favorite Christmas Book

My Christmas book about a little Métis girl named Thelma who is wondering what she could give baby Jesus holds such a special place in my heart. I love how it highlights the Métis culture and reminds me so much of my grandmother Thelma. It's definitely a book that's very close to my heart.

After a year of recovery, wounded war veteran Jonah Harrison comes home for Christmas. But when a blizzard strands him with Kami Jackson—the girl who once knew him best—he can’t hide anything from her, no matter how much he wants to. Kami has a wounded heart of her own, though, and it might take a miracle---or at least two matchmaking dogs---for them to find the healing they both long for and the courage to reach for a chance at love.

Christmas Traditions

Our family went to see a local light display and it was so fun! It was Teddy's first time seeing a light display and I think he really liked it. My favorite part was the dinosaur with the Santa hat. It just made me laugh.

Do you have fun Christmas traditions that you do?

My Monday Book Report

I was reading Melanie Jacobson's book, Scrooge and the Girls Next Door over the weekend and it is absolutely adorable! Single mom, grumpy neighbor, and plenty of enemy to friends to more sparks! I love the Creekville world the author has created and this is the perfect book to get you in the holiday spirit. So cute and fun!

You can get your copy HERE

Here's the back copy:

When the sunniest woman in Creekville buys the house next to the grumpiest man on the street, sparks fly . . . and not just because she keeps blowing his fuses...

Twenty-six-year-old Paige Redmond, single mom and go-getter, can’t wait to give her daughter, Evie, the Christmas of her dreams. Nothing can get in Paige’s way, not even her newly purchased fixer-upper cottage needing way more fixing than she planned.

Paige tackles the holiday with Clark Griswold spirit, amusing the entire town—except for her humbug next door neighbor, the grumpy but deliciously handsome Professor Henry Hill. With the help of colorful friends and found family—plus a feral cat and a pancake snowman—Paige and Evie wage a campaign to cure the cranky professor of his Christmas blues.

When Paige's feelings for Henry wind up as tangled as her Christmas lights, there's suddenly more than Christmas spirit on the line. Will Henry pull the plug on their first solo Christmas? Or can Paige and Evie convince the town's biggest scrooge to open his grinchy heart to the holiday . . . and to them?

A Little Giving Goes a Long Way

We went to the Giving Machines near us and were surprised there was a little concert going on! It was so fun to be there and to be part of the giving season. I really enjoyed picking out what we could give to those in need. You can even buy a chicken or a goat!

I love the Giving Machines and the good they do! Have you ever been to one?

Do You Love Getting Christmas Cards?

I got the last of my Christmas cards mailed today. Whew!

I admit, I love getting them and it's even better if there's a little note attached on how their year went, like a little year-in-review or something. Someone said once they don't like those because they feel like they're bragging, but a lot of people on my Christmas card list are people I don't see often, if at all, so I like to catch up through that little card. And it's fun for me to do a little Bellon family year-in-review because then I can see what fun things we did!

Do you send Christmas cards? Do you love getting them?

My Monday Book Report

I'm still working on the Christmas Forevermore anthology. I've loved the first two in the collection so far. Sweet, romantic, with a lot of holiday-filled magic. Can't wait to read the next two!

What did you read this past weekend?

You can get Christmas Forevermore HERE

Here's the back copy:

This holiday season, fall in love with a brand-new collection of swoon-worthy novellas from four of your favorite historical romance authors. From meddling matchmakers to fortuitous fiascos, the holidays have never been more magical!

“A Family Christmas” by Sally Britton: After years abroad, Cyril Grant worries about relating to his highborn relatives at the family’s holiday celebration. But an unexpected connection with a member of the household staff opens his heart―in more ways than one.

“Christmas Forevermore” by Sarah M. Eden: In this reimagining of the beloved Charles Dickens tale A Christmas Carol, spinster Minna Schofield is inadvertently ensnared by a local matchmaker whose meddling launches Minna on a journey of self-reflection that could lead her to unexpected love.

“Christmas at Cranfield” by Ashtyn Newbold: Though childhood friends Hannah and Samuel secretly adore one another, fate conspires to keep them apart. But after years of shared holidays and missed opportunities, this Christmas brings the hope that their stars will align.

“A Thrill of Hope” by Karen Thornell: After a devastating loss, Christmas holds little appeal for Isabel Reid. But when a snowstorm traps her in the company of a surprising traveling companion, the perpetual winter of Isabel’s heart may just begin to thaw.

Holiday Book Deal!

Tomorrow is the last day to get this free book deal! I love these anthologies, especially during a busy holiday season, because the stories are the perfect length to let you still get that bit of romance while you are getting ready for the big day!

Get your free book HERE

Here's the back copy:

In New York Times & USA Today’s bestselling author Lucinda Brant’s delightful novella, FAIRY CHRISTMAS, Kitty Aldershot is orphaned and forced to live on others’ charity. Offered a home under the generous roof of her relatives, the Earl of Salt Hendon and his countess, Kitty wants for nothing, not even the affections of Mr. Tom Allenby. But when Kitty stumbles across a letter written by Lady Caroline that reveals how Mr. Allenby would be ruined should he marry the likes of Kitty, she realizes she has been fooling herself all along. Kitty’s world crumbles around her as she recognizes she will forever be alone with no prospects at all.

Sarah M. Eden’s charming romance novella A CHRISTMAS PROMISE, Sean Kirkpatrick is trying to get to his new place of employment, Kilkenny Castle, in order to start as the new stablehand. His only requirement is to drive a team of high-spirited nags from Dublin to Kilkenny in a certain amount of time. Unfortunately he winds up in a muddy field, stuck, lost, and running out of time. He’s about to lose the job before he can prove himself capable of finishing his first assignment. When Maeve Butler arrives on the scene, Sean isn’t sure if she’s intent on rescuing him or bent on torturing him with her fiery wit and lovely dark eyes.

In Heather B. Moore’s enchanting novella, TWELVE MONTHS, Lucien Baxter’s best and most incorrigible friend, Will, dies unexpectedly, leaving behind his new bride and unborn child the week before Christmas. Will’s last request is that Lucien watches over Cora, not just as a benefactor, but as a husband. When Lucien does his duty and proposes to Cora, he’s turned down flat. But over the course of the next few days, Lucien discovers that marrying Cora wouldn’t be any sort of duty after all, but a matter of following his heart.

In Lu Ann Staheli’s sweet romance novella, A FEZZIWIG CHRISTMAS, Dick Wilkins and his best friend Ebenezer Scrooge have been looking forward to the annual Fezziwig Christmas dance for weeks. Ebenezer is practically engaged to Annabelle Fezziwig, and Dick hopes to start courting her younger sister, Pricilla. Once the dance starts, and Pricilla arrives, as pretty and charming as ever, Dick discovers that he’s not the only man vying for her attention. His best friend advises Dick that he has to win Pricilla’s heart, as well as her mother’s favor. Losing his heart has suddenly become very complicated.

A TASTE OF HOME, a captivating romance by Annette Lyon, we meet Claire Jennings, who’s on her way to spend Christmas with her family. As she rides the train with William Rhodes, who grew up across the street, memories of Christmases past flood her mind. He may be twenty-one now, but she can’t forget his torturous teasing from their school years. At the rail station, Claire discovers that her home is under quarantine because her little brother has measles. She's stuck in town, away from her family, on her favorite holiday. William stays behind with her, and as Christmas Day approaches and her homesickness deepens, she discovers that perhaps he has changed in more ways than one.

Becca Wilhite’s entrancing novella, MY MODERN GIRL, follows Margie, who lands her dream job as a clerk at Macy’s department store in New York City. Margie might be new in town, but she’s determined to succeed and prove to Henry that moving to the city was the right decision. As the Christmas season approaches, Margie realizes that being a “modern girl” might not be all she had dreamed of, and Henry might have more to offer than she ever imagined.

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Today is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and I hope all the sacrifices of our military men and women are always remembered and appreciated.

I wasn't alive during Pearl Harbor, but I was alive when the Challenger space shuttle exploded and when 9/11 happened. It's strange a little how where you were that day and what you were doing become unforgettable core memories.

Were you alive during an event that changed the world?

Christmas Shopping---How Are You Doing?

I started Christmas shopping in late September because I have a large family and didn't want to break the family budget by buying everything in December. By Black Friday I was done with all my major purchases and I was feeling pretty proud of myself! Now I can relax in December, I said.

But December came, and now whenever I'm out running errands and I see a cute little gift I think, oh I should get that for so and so! Or one of my kids mentions something they wished they'd put on their list and I think, oh maybe I should try to grab that! So while I'm "done" I'm sort of not done. I mean, maybe Christmas shopping is like editing a book. For me, I really could go on editing for weeks and months and maybe even years. I finally just have to tell myself to stop. And from the looks of things, I really could go on Christmas shopping for weeks and months. It's probably time to just tell myself to stop, haha.

Are you ever like that? Adding little gifts here and there even though you're "done?"

My Holiday TBR List

With all the cold weather, and the holidays fast approaching, I've been trying to narrow down my top four holiday books to read in the next few weeks. Here's what I came up with!

To be honest, I'm super excited to read them! What's on your Christmas TBR list? Have you read any of my four? If so, what did you think?

Which is Your Favorite?

The weather has turned cold and snowy where I live and I'm breaking out my favorite holiday treats.

So, tell me, which one of these would you rather have this holiday season? I'm torn, because they are all good, but I think I'd have to go with hot chocolate. What about you?

What Are You Reading Wednesday

I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of Mimi Matthews new book, Lily of Ludgate Hill, that won't come out until January. I love this series about four friends and I've been anxiously waiting for the next installment, so you can imagine how happy I was to get an advanced copy!

Lily of Ludgate Hill is definitely worth the wait! It's a slow-burn second chance romance and is so toe-curlingly good. Mimi Matthews is fast becoming one of my very favorite authors. I've been reading it every chance I get!

Accountability Post

Well, as you know, it's been a bit of slow going on my new book, Second Guess. I thought I was doing better and moving forward from some of the health problems I've had, but it's not going as fast as I would like. I did manage to edit two chapters, though, so I'm feeling pretty proud of that. I've never had linger health issues before so this is very new territory for me. I'm trying hard to be patient, but that is not my strong suit. Which is maybe why I've been going through this? To teach me patience? I wish I could learn faster . . .

Every little step brings me one step closer to releasing this book, though, and that makes me happy! I am going to CELEBRATE when this book is released! I'll hope you'll be there with me, too.

Black Friday is Here!

I have my list ready and I am going virtual Black Friday shopping! I was never really one to go to the brick and mortar stores early in the morning (do people still do that?), but I do like the online deals. This year I am looking for some very specific items, (which makes it easier, I think) but I'm also open to some impulse purchases for Christmas. I'm hoping to wrap up the last of my Christmas shopping today!

What about you? Are you a Black Friday shopper? Are you almost done with your Christmas shopping or just getting started? Have any good deals that you'd like to share?

Are You Reading Christmas Books Yet?

I'm starting to read Christmas books! Have you started yet? There are so many fun ones out there.

If you are looking for a Christmas novella, A Holiday by Gaslight was my first Mimi Matthews book and I loved it! And it's on sale, too!

Here's the back copy:

A Courtship of Convenience

Sophie Appersett is quite willing to marry outside of her class to ensure the survival of her family. But the darkly handsome Mr. Edward Sharpe is no run-of-the-mill London merchant. He's grim and silent. A man of little emotion--or perhaps no emotion at all. After two months of courtship, she's ready to put an end to things.

A Last Chance for Love

But severing ties with her taciturn suitor isn't as straightforward as Sophie envisioned. Her parents are outraged. And then there's Charles Darwin, Prince Albert, and that dratted gaslight. What's a girl to do except invite Mr. Sharpe to Appersett House for Christmas and give him one last chance to win her? Only this time there'll be no false formality. This time they'll get to know each other for who they really are.

Birthday Fun!

For my birthday this year, we went to an indoor playground and to a pizza joint. Why would we do that? Am I trying to reclaim my lost youth? No, haha. I just wanted to do things all my kids and grandkids would love. And it was a big hit! Spending time with family is by far the best time!

Happy birthday to me!

True Friends are Gifts!

With my birthday coming up, I've just been counting all my blessings. I want to say thank you to my true friends who have been there for me, laughed and cried with me, and helped me be better. I’m also grateful for my children’s true friends who are loyal, loving, and kind, and have become part of our family over the years. True friends are so precious and I cherish them. I've met so many wonderful people here on the internet as well. I hope you know how much I value you!

My New Meridian Review is Out!

I am so excited about my new Meridian Magazine review. This month I'm reviewing Windsong Manor by Julie Wright and Skye Fall by Paige Edwards. A sweet historical romance and pulse pounding suspense!

Windsong Manor introduces us to Eleanora Coventry. She was wed at just sixteen to a much older man who merely wanted an heir. He controlled every aspect of her life, and on his deathbed, forces a promise that she will raise his illegitimate daughter as her own. Eleanora agrees, and soon after she is widowed, moves her son and new daughter to their country estate. The stablemaster there, Ridley Ellis, evokes feelings in her she’s never felt before, but she is overwhelmed with a son who is well on the path of becoming just like his late father—unfeeling and cruel, along with her new daughter who misses her old home. Ridley becomes a haven for Eleanora, but their growing feelings for each other complicate everything. Can they risk everything—including her guardianship over her son—for a chance at love?

In Skye Fall, Isla Montjoy is newly in love with her policeman boyfriend when she discovers he’s a crooked cop who is involved in an organization that covers up their crimes—by making sure no one lives to tell about them. Isla survives her brutal attack and goes into hiding to protect her family. After changing her name and settling in a small town in the Scottish highlands, Isla meets Ben Pressley-Coombes and his father—right before her ex-boyfriend tracks her down and tries to kill her. In order to protect her, Ben and his family take her in and spirit her away to the U.S. Isla is drawn to Ben and his kindness and decency, but she’s afraid to let herself feel anything for him. He gives her a sense of safety she hasn’t had in a long time and part of her wants to give in and let herself fall in love. Does she dare? Or will danger find her again?

You can see what I thought of both of these books in my review HERE

Have you read either of those books? What did you think?

Two Cent Tuesday--What Do You Think?

A few of my friends have already put up their Christmas tree. I usually wait until the first part of December. Obviously there is no wrong time to put up your tree, but I'm wondering, when do you usually put up your Christmas tree?

Throw in your two cents.

A Book I'm Still Thinking About

Did you ever have a book touch your heart and give you a different perspective on life? That's what Heather Moore's Under a Java Moon did for me. I read it last month, but I'm still thinking about it!

The book is set during WWII and based on a true story about a young Dutch family who is caught in the Japanese occupation of the Dutch East Indies. In all the books I’ve ever read that are set during WWII, none of them took place in the Dutch East Indies. I had no idea the things that the Dutch and Indonesian people went through during that time period, but Ms. Moore uses her talents to really bring the era to life and pulls the reader in from the very first page.

The story is told from three perspectives—George Vischer, his wife Mary, and his daughter Rita. The author is able to give each character a compelling personality that comes through on the page. Readers will feel as if they are close friends of the Vischer family, which makes what happens to them so gripping.

I think this is one of the best books Heather Moore has done and is well worth the read.

It's Remembrance Day Tomorrow

It's Remembrance Day tomorrow and I couldn't let the occasion go by without talking about my grandpa (the one on the left).

He served two tours in Korea, was wounded, and was awarded medals for saving others, including one from the president of the United States. He didn't talk a lot about his war experiences, but the few stories he told me were ones that I could tell were etched in his mind's eye forever. He had some struggles after the war, as many veterans do, but he worked hard to overcome them. He was a wonderful grandpa to me.

He called me every Sunday and on New Year's, and came to visit me once a year. He was constantly volunteering for organizations in his community (there were so many that I eventually lost track) and the year he died, he was named Volunteer of the Year for all of his service to others. I love him and miss him and I'm so very grateful for the service he gave to his country.

Sarah Eden and the Dread Penny Society--Book Review!

The Queen and the Knave is the fifth and final installment of her Dread Penny Society Proper Romance novels and Ms. Eden expertly brings all the threads she’s been building in the first four books to a satisfying end in this Victorian mystery romance.

In The Queen and the Knave, Moirin Donnelley is trying to keep all of the people she loves that are part of the Dread Penny Society safe—but they are disappearing one by one. She turns to a constable that she trusts, Fitzgerald Parkington, and they both are drawn into the web of the self-proclaimed “Tempest” and their deadly plans for everyone in the Dread Penny Society—including Moirin. Danger is around every corner with lives are on the line and readers will be on the edge of their seat to see who survives the Tempest.

This is a fast-paced tale combining adventure and romance along with two “penny dreadful” stories in the middle of it all. (And the best news is that Shadow Mountain recently put out all the short "penny dreadful" stories that have previously been interspersed in all of Sarah Eden's Dread Penny Society novels and are now in one collection---including three new never-before-seen stories! Ms. Eden has a distinctive voice for each "line" of these gothic Victorian tales that includes mystery, adventure, romance and of course, ghost stories. This collection is a definite must-have for Sarah Eden fans!)

But back to the The Queen and the Knave. This story features locations all throughout London and the details and descriptions will have the reader feeling as if they are right there with the characters. Moirin is a complicated heroine, but her need to save those she loves is so admirable and in line with what we’ve come to know about her. Fitz or “Parky” is one of those heroes that readers will sigh over as he does his best to do what’s right, all while hiding his own pain from his past. Their slow burn romance and moments of light-heartedness are sweet and their connection is so easy, yet their circumstances make it complicated. This is a bit of an ensemble book as well, since characters from each of the previous books in the series appear in this final story as it leads to the exciting conclusion. I love the full-circle feel at the end of this book, and this whole series is definitely going to have a place on my keeper shelf. Be sure to block out enough time to read because once you start this book, you won’t want to stop!

Great Deal on Two Fall Romances!

If you love fall romances, then you will love both of these books! The perfect weekend reads! I would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite, I really loved them both. And they're on sale for only .99 cents!

Here's the back copy to A Pumpkin and a Patch:

Every person has that one thing they’re known for, and it doesn’t matter what you do, that one thing—whether good or bad—follows you around like a bloodhound for the rest of your life. For me it’s a story I wrote when I was fifteen. Forever more I will be known as the Reece the Rogue Pirate girl, instead of Josie Peterson. Why couldn’t I be known for all the cute children’s stories I’ve written about my family’s pumpkin patch?

Tragically, the torrid story I wrote as a teen was based on a real person, Reece Cavanaugh. And guess what? He grew up to be a pirate—okay, lawyer. Same thing. To make matters worse, the man is representing my ex-fiancé who wants to steal my treasure, aka engagement ring. If that wasn’t the icing on the cake, Reece has an adorable daughter who happens to be my new student. That’s right, I must now have actual conversations with him after avoiding him for half my life, even by hiding behind banana displays when needed. But the more I get to know Reece—the real version, not the imaginary one who ravishes me on sandy beaches—I can’t help but wish we could roll around in the sand together. There’s a problem though, the school I work for frowns upon relationships between parents and teachers. And it’s pumpkin season, which means all my free time is spent on the family farm. But when he kisses me, I can’t help wanting to break all the rules and get tangled up in the barn. The burning question is, am I brave enough to make my story a reality or will it be another bad ending?

Here is the back copy for Pumpkin Spice and Not So Nice:

If I were ever to write a memoir, it would be titled, Jenna Peterson’s Guide to Dating Emotionally Unavailable Men. I’m like a professional at it. I’m so good, I can take any dysfunctional man and turn him into Prince Charming, just in time for him to dump me and then go on to marry the next woman he dates. I’m about ready to give up on loving real men and focus on lusting over fictional men in the Turkish dramas I can’t stop devouring.

But then . . . I find a mysterious fifty-dollar bill with a handwritten note on it that was donated to my family’s pumpkin patch by accident. And wouldn’t you know it, the mystery man it belongs to is emotionally unavailable, albeit freakishly attractive. I keep telling myself to walk away, but there’s something about Aidan St. Claire that makes me want to unravel all his secrets. All I know is he sure can heat up the cozy fall nights. I can’t help but think that maybe this time I’ll get to keep Prince Charming for myself.

A Regency Spy Romance for Free!

Just in case you need a Regency spy romance to read this week, The Marquess Meets His Match is free today! This was one of my favorite books to write. I hope you enjoy it and share with your friends!

Here's the back copy:

A traitor with a deadly plan. Two agents sent to expose his identity before he strikes. But danger is closer than they think . . .

Lord Christian Wolverton―known as Wolf in a covert group operating during the war against Napoleon―has been called home from his military duties. For the moment, his family responsibilities require him to suspend his more clandestine activities. But information falls into his hands that a traitor will soon try to tip the scales back into French favor and Christian doesn't have much time to stop it from happening.

Going to the one person who can help him, the powerful Duke of Huntingdon, Christian comes face to face with Lady Alice. She's a beautiful member of the ton with a very big secret―she's also a trained agent and already on the case. Forced to partner with her to lure the traitor out of hiding, Christian wants to quickly close the case himself, before Lady Alice is more closely involved. But Lady Alice has ideas of her own and she's going to prove her theories correct―with or without him.

Danger is closer than they think, however, and it's a race against time to expose the traitor's identity before British lives are endangered. Both Christian and Alice have strong opinions on who he is, but which one will be proven right?

My August Reads & A Surprise!

Here are the books I read in August. Kind of an eclectic little bunch! I really enjoyed all of them, but I think The Trespassers by Stephanie Black was the most surprising to me. I don't usually read paranormal mystery, but this one was SO good! Lots of twists and turns and red herrings. I really had to work to figure out who the murderer was! I really hope this is the beginning of a series.

I reviewed it in Meridian Magazine if you wanted to read more of my thoughts about it. You can see that HERE

What I'm Reading This Week

I have loved Sarah Eden's Dread Penny Society series and the fifth book, The Queen and the Knave just came out! I am trying to savor it and not race through it, but it is SO good! Have you read this series?

What are you reading this week?

Here's the back copy for The Queen and the Knave:

Romance and mystery come full circle in the fifth and final book of Sarah M. Eden’s best-selling Victorian Proper Romance series.

London, 1866

Móirín Donnelly has spent the last five years working in the shadows for the Dread Penny Society, a secret fraternity of penny dreadful authors who use their profits, influence, and street smarts to protect the poor and vulnerable of Victorian London. But spending so much of her life in secret is taking its toll on her soul—and her heart.

When members of the Dread Penny Society begin disappearing, Móirín turns to her friend Detective Constable Fitzgerald Parkington for help. The two have developed a friendly rapport, and Móirín feels like she can trust him, though perhaps not with all of her secrets.

Fitzgerald Parkington has a sixth sense when it comes to tracking down criminals, which is why he’s recently been transferred to the Detective Department at Scotland Yard. But when roadblocks and red tape keep him from tracking down the criminal mastermind known as “The Tempest,” he must rely on the one woman who has unexpectedly captured his heart—the brash, bold, and fiery Irish lass, Móirín Donnelly.

As the Tempest’s deadly reach threatens to overwhelm all of London, Móirín and Fitz are caught in an elaborate game of cat and mouse that leads down back alleys, through dark London buildings, and right to the gates of Kensington Palace. Móirín has one chance to save Fitz and the Dread Penny Society from the Tempest, and she might have to sacrifice her one chance at love to do so.
