Memorial Day

It was a very rainy Memorial Day, but this lone bagpiper standing in the storm to play for all those visiting the cemetery touched my heart. Very symbolic, I think.

I'm so grateful for the sacrifices made for our freedoms.

His scandals were right on track until she derailed everything.

As the successful owner of multiple railroad lines, Diana Barton is all too accustomed to fending off suitors seeking to stake their claim on her wealth. In order to keep the wolves at bay, Diana has contrived the perfect plan: appeal to the most notorious rake in London, the Baron Lord Bryant, to ruin her reputation and scare off the worst of the time wasters. The ruse will be no hardship—she’s secretly been fascinated by the man for years.

Lord Bryant is well aware of his questionable reputation. Indeed, he has cultivated the image carefully, and the last thing he wants is a wife. When he’s approached by the younger sister of a business associate, he tells her in no uncertain terms that he cannot help. However, when he sees for himself what she is up against, Bryant grudgingly offers his assistance. Faced with his most complicated entanglement yet, Bryant is firm in his conditions—and Diana knows that to get romantically involved with Bryant would spell certain heartbreak. But as the counterfeit couple grows ever closer, the line between truth and lies becomes blurred, threatening both Lord Bryant’s well-laid plans and the future of Diana’s railroad business.

The Best of State Awards!

Tonight was the awards ceremony for Best of State. It was amazing! The entire experience was so much more than I expected.

As I walked backstage after receiving my medal, (I won for Best Children's Book) there was a lady there to give me my certificate and commemorative coin and she was saying how wonderful it was to meet me and how she loved my children's book. It just touched me that she was so excited about the book.

Honestly, it's moments like those that make everything worth it! We were treated to an incredible dinner, then musical entertainment that included a high school band that sounded so professional and Octapella who were incredible. From the beginning to the end, it was so much fun. What an unforgettable night!

The hardcover book is on sale right now for only $20.41! You can get your copy HERE

Helping An Author Friend

My longtime author friend Rachelle lost her husband yesterday. I'm so heartbroken for her and her family.

If you are a praying person, could you remember them in your prayers? And if you have a bit of extra book money in your budget this month, maybe you could buy a book or two of hers. I've recommended them before and I think you'd enjoy them. She writes fun romances and some romantic suspense.

You can see all her books HERE

Are You On TikTok?

So . . . I joined TikTok. I love seeing all the readers and book reviews and authors on Booktok. I admit, though, it's been a little overwhelming! I'm sort of getting the hang of it, and that's making it fun. Uploading the videos (especially my first one) was such a learning curve, but I'm a little proud of it, since I'm not a techy person at all. Go me!

Are you on Tiktok? If you are, you should friend me! @juliecoulterbellon

Three Historical Romance Novellas

THE PROMISE THAT KATY DID, by Annette Lyon: After the death of Sue Ellen, the closest thing she has to family, Katy knows it’s time to leave the house she’s lived in as a guest and start over in the city. She quickly secures a job, but before leaving, she must honor the unusual promise she made to Sue Ellen on her deathbed: meet with Mr. Balmer. The elderly gentleman arranges for his grandson Barrett to escort her to a town dance. That evening, shy Katy quickly feels at ease with her partner. If her new position weren’t taking her from town, perhaps something could develop between them. But Barrett may not feel the same about her, and besides, they don't have enough time to find out.

A LADY OF SENSE, by Sarah M. Eden: Eleanor Sherwood has lived her entire life under her parents’ thumb with little hope of escape. When they choose the unbearable Mr. Broadstead to be her future husband, she begs her father for another option. He arranges for her to meet Peter Havensham, who quickly proves himself a good and kindhearted gentleman, completely different from Mr. Broadstead, and utterly undeserving of a forced engagement. Eleanor cannot bring herself to prey upon Peter’s honor, but neither can she imagine a life with Mr. Broadstead. What is a lady to do when faced with such an impossible choice?

A SECOND CHANCE, by Heather B. Moore: Virginia needs a new start in order to recover from her broken marriage, so when her best friend Millie invites Virginia to Chicago, she goes to live with her friend’s family. But when Millie asked Virginia to participate in a double-date, Virginia knows she’s not ready to start dating again. Reluctantly she agrees, only to find out that Max might just be the man who can repair the cracks in her heart.

Three Contemporary Romance Novellas

BRAELYNN’S BLIND DATE, by Victorine E. Lieske. When Braelynn agrees to go on a blind date, she thinks she’s hit the jackpot. Tyler is gorgeous and the perfect gentleman. Of course she should have known it was too good to be true. It turns out that Tyler really wasn’t Tyler, but a random stranger who went along with Braelynn’s mistaken assumption. So, she chalks it up to a dumb mistake until she gets to work Monday morning and discovers that her gorgeous blind date is now her new boss.

BIANCA’S HOPE, by Rachel Branton: A blind-date-gone-wrong is not the way Bianca would have chosen to celebrate the news that she might be losing her business, but saying no to the sister who took care of her after their mother’s death proves impossible. So for one date, one torturous evening, she’ll endure the company of an infuriating, heartless man she has no intention of ever seeing again. She doesn’t expect her heart to have other plans. Bianca soon learns that sometimes the unexpected is not only what you need, it’s exactly what you’ve been waiting for all along.

BLIND SPOT, by Sariah Wilson: Ria has prepared most of her life to meet her prince, trouble is, her mother keeps yanking her back to reality. So when Ria reads about a country teeming with princes, she drops everything and applies to grad school. But every blind date goes wrong, and while Ria commiserates with her roommate Tessa and Tessa’s totally un-prince-like brother Paolo, Ria discovers that all the things she thought she wanted in a man are far from what she really needs.

She is an amazing author that has published in several genres, including romance, romantic suspense, creative non-fiction, Biblical fiction, and historical fiction. Of course she had great news for me regarding one of my favorite series she's written. Yay!

Is Anyone Else Exhausted?

Our family's schedule for May is absolutely crazy! Every day we have several year-end activities with recitals, concerts, a school play, geography bee, soccer games, dance rehearsals, it's just never-ending! Today alone we had a geography bee in the morning, I hosted a Volunteer Appreciation luncheon at my home (so I was cleaning and setting up), then picked the kids up for school and dropped my daughter at dance while I went to cub scouts with my son. Once that was over, I got ready for book club (which was a true pleasure, I LOVE talking about books!) But I admit, I crashed after and went a soaked in a hot bubble bath to decompress. But it seems like every day in May is like that! Another mom told me today that May is like Christmas but without the presents. I laughed because it is so true! Busy, busy, busy.

Now, I don't want you to think I am complaining. I love that I can experience all these things with my kids. I'm lucky to be able to be there and clap for them and tell them how wonderful they are. But, if I'm being honest, I'm really excited that we're almost done with the school year, haha.

Is anyone else having a crazy month of May?

But when his father purchases the town of Sheet Cake, Pat suddenly sees his life with clear purpose: get his brothers on board with his dad's wild idea and win back the one woman who got away.

Lindy was supposed to be traveling the world, not stuck in a small town, caring for her niece. But she would do anything to keep custody of Jo--even if that looks like a marriage of convenience with the man who already broke her heart once.

Now if she can only keep herself from falling back in love with her husband...
