The Next Prize . . . Are You Entered?

And the celebration continues!

There is a grand prize of a Fantabulous Book Basket filled with all kinds of books, goodies, and swag! There will be several posts like this one, where if you comment, your name will be put into the hat to win the GRAND PRIZE!

I started this blog in 2011. It doesn't seem that long ago! But back then, I had teenagers and toddlers and life was extremely busy for me trying to balance writing and mothering. I loved Castle and Hawaii Five-0 and I was on an organizing kick that year. Crazy!

Rolling in the Deep by Adele was the #1 song that year. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was the #1 movie. NCIS, Dancing with the Stars, and Football were the top 3 TV shows. And Prince William married Kate Middleton!

Can you remember what you were doing in 2011? Tell me one thing you remember about that year in the comments and your name will be entered in the Grand Prize drawing!

We happened to go camping near Banff the same week the royal couple visited for their honeymoon. All we saw of them were the helicopters, but the scenery is gorgeous. It was a fun trip.

I have a lot of health problems and that year it had all come to a head, I almost died. I was doing everything I could to get better and find a new normal. Everything that I went through makes that year stand out for me.

Commenting failed for me yesterday, let's try again!

I believe that was the year my oldest started Kindergarten and promptly regressed. It's been a decade of assessments, appointments and so much paperwork.

I think I answered this on Goodreads.
2011 was pretty busy for me as a grandma. The grandkids were 5, 4 and 2, so I was probably helping pick up at least one from pre-K and taking care of another one while his mom was taking college courses.

I had three kids under age 5 and my husband took a new job but the timeline made it so that I had to stay behind to pack up the house by myself. With a newborn and 2 toddlers. :)

I was pregnant with my fourth child and at 2 am on March 11 I was awoken to a phone call from a friend telling me not to be alarmed. She didn’t want me going into labor since I was near the end of my pregnancy. She told me that Japan had had a big earthquake and tsunami. We lived on the coast just a half mile from the ocean at the time. My friend told me that we needed to evacuate and my family could head to their house. Talk about shock. I called my widow neighbor and told her she was doing with us. We woke up our other kids told them to quickly pack their backpacks with a couple outfits and underwear and bring a toy or blanket. Quickly grabbed some easy food from the pantry. And grabbed the dogs some food. That all took 5 minutes. Hopped in our van, picked up the neighbor and drove away from our house not knowing if we works come back to it while or not. Thankfully we were able to. It was a very surreal feeling coming back home after watching all of the footage of those who had lost everything. 😢💗

In 2011 I had two young children, and I was just trying to keep my youngest safe. That was the year he had to get stitches on his tongue from running across the couch and tripping on it and biting his tongue open!

Also, I loved that Adele song, and I have a mug somewhere that has Kate and William on it in celebration of their wedding. 😂
