Do You Love Romantic Comedy? Then This Giveaway is for You!

Melanie Jacobson is so good at chemistry and romantic comedy, I would LOVE to win this one for myself! But this is a party for you, so you won't want to miss this giveaway!

All you have to do to enter is answer this question in the comments: Have you ever made a bad first impression on someone?

I didn't have a great first impression of my husband. After we were introduced, he said hello and then talked to the girl next to me for the rest of the time. I thought he was "stuck up" (as I wrote in my journal.) Later on, he told me that he was tongue-tied because he thought I was so beautiful. (Nice save, am I right? haha) What are your bad first impression stories?

Here's the back copy of Kiss Me Now by Melanie Jacobson:

Ian would do anything for his grandmother, so when Gran suddenly announces she’s leaving the family property to her pretty new neighbor, Ian is on the case. He’ll use every one of his sharply-honed skills as a private investigator to expose the gold digger and save Gran.

Brooke is living her best life far from the city and career that tried to destroy her. She’s happy spending her summer renovating the house she inherited and gardening with her elderly neighbor, Miss Lily. But when Miss Lily’s handsome—and obnoxious—grandson shows up, making wild accusations and dragging up Brooke’s past, Brooke must convince Ian he has her all wrong.

But what happens when their chemistry proves even more dangerous than Ian’s accusations?

Not so much a bad impression but embarrassing. We were hiring a new doctor to work in the office I was working in. He was supposed to stop in to look over the office, but lunch time came and I closed and locked the door. I went into the restroom. The front reception lady of the department across the way and let him in without me knowing it so when I walked out of the restroom I came face to face with a man I didn’t know in an office that was supposed to be locked. Scared me until I saw the front receptionist with him but I was also still embarrassed

I had a period of awkwardness going on for a little bit. So I cant really remember a time when I made a bad impression but I am very sure that it happened more than once.. lol.

I'm sure I have, but I don't know if I'd know it. Haha. My hubby didn't make the best first impression, but I got over it soon after and we eventually got together, so all's well that ends well, right? 😉

I'm sure I have - I wore a white dress to a wedding - didn't know better - it was a dress my other had made for my high school graduation and I thought it was lovely and deserved a second wearing. But, someone stopped me outside the Church and asked me if I was the bride!

I’m sure I have. I try to make good first impressions but have come to realize that not everyone will like me and that’s okay. 😁

I bought something off of Etsy, unwrapped it and I didn't get what I ordered. BUT, I emailed her asking about it and she said she sent two. I felt like an idiot, I didn't unwrap it all the way. So, she probably hates me.

I'm sure I have, but I can't think of any right off. I'm pretty good at putting my foot in my mouth!

I tend to be really quiet around new people. Once I get to know them, they often say they thought I was stuck up.

I definitely have. Someone told someone else once that I was stuck up. It explained why that person was kind of cool towards me.

I didn't get a very first impression of my husband of 46 years. He's a little odd till you get to know him.

I’m sure I have, but I try not to remember that sort of thing. 😂

I’m sure I probably have on numerous occasions! I’ve learned to accept my socially awkwardness. Im a very reserved person. As a teenager I answered the phone after glancing at the caller ID. With the assumption that it was a family member on the other line I jokingly answered in a rude manner, “What do you want?” Only to be shocked when a girl timidly asked if my brother was at home. Of course he had to make sure she knew it was me who answered the phone when she stopped by the house later. 🤦‍♀️

Yes I have made a first bad impression. I have wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.

I can’t think of any right now but I’m sure I have. Not too often but there are a few times that I can tell people are not happy that I’m introducing myself or whatever. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think I’m a pretty friendly person so I always feel confused when it seems I’ve offended them or some such thing. I just smile and try to go on as though they didn’t respond that way.

I'm sure I've made a bad first impression on someone, but I can't remember anything specific. I had plenty of first dates, so I'm sure lots of those weren't very favorable first impressions!

All. The. Time. I try not to but the nature of my job (occupational therapy) means in my facility and as soon as I say my name and what I am going to help them with some people take that poorly.

Yes, my husband’s friend wasn’t impressed after he met me, but it was about my physical appearance. I guess he didn’t think I was pretty enough. I think it was a sign of how our future would go...

I know I have. It's hard to think of exact times. But I do things all the time that leave bad impressions.

I'm sure I have. I'm pretty quiet and keep to myself. That leads to others thinking I don't like them.

My Freshman year at college, I met a super cute boy...who proceeded to ask my roommate out for a few dates. Eventually he moved on to another roommate and took her on several dates. I think I had the biggest crush on him out of all of us but he didn't even know I existed! My sophomore year, a mutual friend set us up on a date when the aforementioned cute boy broke up with a girl he thought he was going to marry. I didn't really love the idea of going out with someone on the rebound, particularly someone who had dated two of my roommates without giving me the time of day. I agreed, because...crush. We went to a movie on campus and when the movie was over, I ran into some friends and turned to introduce my date and completely forgot his name! Although he did ask me out again after that (maybe because he'd never had a girl forget his name and wanted to make a better impression?) That relationship was a series of bungled first impressions and I realized we were just not meant to be.

Actually, my girlfriend met my boyfriend at the watering hole of Cleveland, while I was in the bathroom. He wasn't impressed with her, but his eyes lit up when he met me. We made time for each other on our schedules while I worked full time as a nurse and he was an accountant going to law school at night full time.

Once I was on a practicum trip for school, where we had to room with other teaching students for a week in another city. Right after we walked in the room, I went over to the crooked picture on the wall and straightened it. I remember one of the gals saying something like, "Okay, so we're dealing with OCD this week, huh?"

Oh yes, when I met my now-husband I was a wreak so emotional and being all vulnerable talking about how horrible my then-husband was and how i dont have the nerve to leave cause he was my high school sweetheart and knew me more then anyone

I'm sure I've made a terrible first impression on a lot of people. I can be kind of shy and awkward, and that's not impressing.

Nelst said...

Yep,I think because I tend to be quiet around people I don't know, some look at it as being kinda stuck up.
