Word Count Wednesday

I think I'm going to print out this quote and put it next to my desk because it totally describes where I am at in finding balance with my writing and other responsibilties.

"Much may be done in those little shreds and patches of time which every day produces, and which most men throw away." - Charles Colton

Yeah, I have to write in shreds and patches of time, but I'm doing it and trying hard not to throw any opportunity away. Each week I'm moving forward, not quite at a snail's pace, just at my own pace, and I'm so grateful to have the support of all of you.

This week my critique group shredded my work in progress, so I've gone back to the drawing board in revising. All told, even with the deleting and adding and then deleting again, I wrote about 1800 words. So, overall, I'm feeling pretty good about that.

How did you do this week?

I have my bits of time scheduled. I need to stop using that scheduled time on the internet. Speaking of scheduled time...

I was going to say that I really haven't done anything this week, but then I highlighted and copied the little bit of writing I did and pasted it onto a clean document. The word count threw me a little. Almost 1900 words since this weekend without trying. They are rough, to be sure, but they're still there.

I queried off two manuscripts yesterday to Walnut Springs Press. They accept electronically. In order to submit the same ones to Cedar Fort, I'll need to print off the manuscripts and sent them in via the post. Not looking forward to that cost.

1000 words more or less this week for me. Sorry you got shredded, Julie, but I guess that's good too in a way. Ughh. Good luck on kicking the internet habit, Janice. I need to do the same. And good luck on submissions, Debra.

I'm doing my blog tour this week and next, so you all might catch a glimpse of me or my book somewhere other than here.

Zero words this week, Julie. Ouch. But I did make it to the temple.
That's kind of good.

I'm glad to hear you're making progress, and being shredded is a good thing, it means you're on to the next stage :-)

I have the same word count this week as I did last week :-(
