Word Count Wednesday

Quote of the week for me:

"Victory is won not in miles, but in inches. Win a little
now, hold your ground, and later, win a little more." - Louis L’Amour

This week I was able to crank out almost 5000 words!

Can you see me throwing confetti! I seriously am celebrating because this book is almost done! (I didn’t meet my goal for having it done by the end of July, but I am close! Hooray!)

My oldest daughter will be leaving for college soon and I will lose a lot of writing time that she’s been able to give me by watching the babies for me while I write. But I’m excited that I’ll have a novel to show for this summer and I’m so grateful for such a wonderful daughter.

So, now that I’ve broken out the balloons and confetti and celebrated with chocolate, how did your word count go this week? Are you celebrating with me?

Congratulations on almost finishing another book! Celebrating with chocolate? I am so there! I haven't written much this week because I did most of the revisions last week, and I haven't been able to think up a new story yet, but I still got in a few words here and there.

Yay! Congratulations on the word count. I can't wait to read it, Julie. Are we still going to trade? *whimpers*

Oh, I read Ribbon of Darkness (like in one sitting. Loved, loved, loved it, btw) and reviewed it on my blog, on Amazon, on Goodreads, put a link on Twitter and on my Facebook. I think a dozen people might see it. *giggles*

I didn't get much writing done, other than some editing done. I've read through my ms thrice more, and changed the ending slightly. I'm still over by 1200 words, but I do have an idea which thread I can cut completely that will chop that many words out and I don't think it would be missed at all. I'll wait until it is absolutely necessary, though.

Chocolates all around!

FYI--I tried to add Ribbon of Darkness to my to-read list on Goodreads, and you're not there!

I left a review there this morning, but then I input the whole title in plus Julie's name, and up popped her book. I went back and input only "Ribbons" in and it did not come up along with the 4 pages of other books that had "ribbons" somewhere in their title. I don't understand why not.

Way to go Julie! (I'll throw chocolates instead of confetti)

I managed 800 or so this week, which is that many more than have this past month, so that's a good thing. I have this little exercise outing that I usually just crank the tunes on, but the past couple of weeks I've been plotting out my next scene instead. Gets me thinking about it so that when I get back to a computer I can write.

Makes me wish I had a little voice recorder, though. Need to figure out how to do that on my iPhone.

I am celebrating for you and living vicariously through you because I haven't written anything for at least a week -- other than a blog post. But that's something, right? 5000 words is amazing!

Great job, Julie! My oldest is leaving for college too. He didn't do much babysitting for me, but I'm still going to miss him.

I've been falling behind in my goals. Only eight pages last week. But I hope to do some catch up this week and write 13. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for celebrating with me everyone and especially to those of you who threw chocolate! I can't resist thrown chocolate (wrapped of course!)

I am still on the writing high of finishing those words and it's so great to have friends to celebrate with. Thank you thank you! :)

Donna, I'm definitely there on Goodreads. Were you able to find me?
