Well, no big shock here, but my word count was zero again this week. But I'm fully expecting that to change by next Wednesday because I signed up for NaNoWriMo. For those of you who aren't able to participate in NaNo, I'd still like to do fun Word Count Wednesday stuff as we set personal goals to reach in the month of November. When I did the JumpStartWriMo over the summer, I found it so motivating to be going through it with you guys.
So, it's the last day before NaNo and what have I done to prepare? Sadly, nothing. I had all these pie in the sky dreams that I would outline and research and be totally ready to jump in. But, instead, I made a Wendy and Peter Pan costume from scratch. And my back hurts from sewing. Hopefully it will all be worth it tonight. I'm also a teeny bit worried because I'm sick with a horrible cough and cold. But I can power through, right? Send all your good chicken noodle soup thoughts my way, okay?
So, are you ready to write in November? Are you setting your own writing goals if you're not officially participating in NaNo? How did you do this week?

*sends over chicken soup*
For your cough and runny nose, you can heat up a cup of milk, add a good heaping teaspoon of honey, then mix in one teaspoon of turmeric powder. Try it!
I hope you feel better soon!
Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one of our writing buddies handicapped with the "death cold'. I'll have my computer on my lap lying/sitting cuddled up on my couch while trying to "power through" and achieve the 1667 words a day goal.
Remember to drink lots of water and stay hydrated. (I didn't even think about chicken soup. hmmm. My mother skills must be slipping.)
I'm officially freaking out about NaNo. It's weird, because I've totally tried to downplay it, it's unrealistic for me, I don't have time, it's really a lot to ask, etc. But I'm really excited to let this story idea get down in written words!
Just got a challenge on FB from an old college buddy. He says he'll post his work on December 1st, raw. I might as well post a naked picture of myself while I'm at it. (no, not really.) I cringe at the thought of how much complete and utter crap will be among those 50K.
I hear you, Jon and Julie. That's me too. I think I might be crazy to have signed up for Nano. I got 8000 words written in October, and that's really good for me. Those 50,000 are going to include a lot of totally embarrassing writing. I'm excited though. It'll be good for me to get off the internet and shut off my internal editor.
