Four Incredible "J" Prizes to be Won Today!

I think I've been partying a bit too hard this week.  I had to peel myself out of bed this morning and I feel like I'm dragging along today.  So in order to perk myself up, I'm offering all the amazing "J" prizes today.  I know you're going to love them!

The first one is your choice of any one of Josi Kilpack's culinary mysteries.  If any of you follow my reviews you know that I am a huge fan of Josi's culinary mysteries.  Sadie Hofmiller is hilarious and I've loved following her on all her adventures.  This is definitely a series you don't want to miss if you are a fan of mystery.  You can read more about Josi and her mysteries, (and pick out what book you might want should you win)  here

The second prize is an ebook (your choice Kindle or Nook) of Joyce DiPastena's brand new book, Dangerous Favor.  This is one prize that I would love to win myself.  I've read her other books and really loved them.  She brings the medieval time period to life so well you feel like you are really there.  Incredible. Here's the back copy:

Her father has been accused of stealing from the king, an allegation that has reduced her family to poverty. She has one chance to find and marry a man who can help her prove her father's innocence. Lord Therri, heir to a rich barony, has the wealth and connections Mathilde needs to delve into the mysteries of her father's past. Furthermore, Therri embodies all her romantic dreams.

Etienne, the younger son of a disgraced family, has neither wealth nor connections, but is smitten with Mathilde at a glance. She finds the knight intriguing, but believes he is only out to seduce her. While she seeks for a way to win Therri's attention, Etienne tricks her into granting him her favor, an embroidered white ribbon, for a tournament, setting in motion a dangerous chain reaction of events. Can Etienne save Mathilde from a nightmare from her past and prove himself the true hero of her dreams?

The third prize is a signed personalized copy of J. Lloyd Morgan's book, The Hidden Sun.  Here is the back copy for it:

Eliana and Rinan are in love. However, she is destined to become queen of Bariwon, obligated to marry the victor of a competition called the Shoginoc, while Rinan, her royal guardian, is forbidden to marry. Normally they could renounce their titles to be together, but these are not normal times. Abrecan, the malevolent governor of Erd, is determined to win the Shoginoc, thereby placing his easily manipulated son Daimh on Bariwon’s throne. Can Eliana and Rinan find a way to be together without jeopardizing the peace they are so desperately trying to protect?

Doesn't that sound like an adventure?

The fourth prize is Julie Coulter Bellon's book Ribbon of Darkness.  It's a high stakes romantic suspense set in Indonesia.  Here's the back copy:

A split-second decision could change the world’s darkest hour to one of triumph--but who is willing to pay the price?

Kennedy Campbell has been running away for a long time--using her position as an international journalist to escape the ghosts of her family's past. She finds some solace working in an Afghan refugee camp, until the Taliban attacks them and Kennedy is forced to flee. She is pulled into a terrorist's realm of darkness as she fights to save those around her, but will it come at the expense of her own life?

Ethan Barak leads a double life, helping MI-6 bring down arms dealers all over the world until his father is murdered by an old associate. Ethan makes his next mission a personal vendetta by tracking down the killer to Indonesia. While there, he finds himself in a position to either avenge his father or stop a terrorist attack on the Malacca Strait that will jeopardize innocent lives across the world. Can he look past his father's murder to save others?

The line between justice and mercy is blurred with each passing second, and international intrigue becomes intensely personal as the age-old struggle for redemption is brought close to home.

Not bad if I do say so myself.  :)

So there you have it.  Four great prizes from Josi, Joyce, Jason and Julie!

And here's what you can do to get an entry into this contest.  Each thing is worth one entry.

1.  Go to Wednesday's post and vote for your favorite flash fiction in the comment trail.

2.  Tell me what was the most memorable party you've ever been to and why it sticks in your memory.

3.  Tell me one thing you like about my blog.

4.  Tell me, if you could visit one time period in history, what would it be and why.

5.  If you still haven't liked me on Facebook or followed me on this blog, this is your chance to do it now!

We'll be wrapping up all the prizes tomorrow, so be sure to check back!  And since we've danced, eaten food, and thrown confetti, today I shall get the karaoke machine out.  It's not a party until we've done karaoke, right?

I'm trying super hard to win something and since I'm poor, free books are FANTASTIC!

1. Done, I voted for me, since no one else was. I still think I did pretty well, considering I'm not an author!

2. My surprise baby showers, because they really surprised me and gave me presents!

3. Your book links with kindle prices!

4. So long as I'm only visiting, I would love to go back to Jesus' time!

5. Already done both.

Please and thanks!

1. Voted
2. A high school party where we all set each other up on dates. It was a no pressure situation and we were all good friends so there was lots of interaction and fun.
3. Love First Page Friday
4. I love reading about history, but I don't think I'd want an extended visit, maybe only a day or two. I love to learn so I can't think of any one time period I'd prefer over another. Any time would be a great adventure.
5. Done and Done.

(Apologies in advance for writing a novella. I'm putting this and my fiction entries in my Word Count on Wednesday.)

1. Already done. And I even sent a personal plea to someone to come vote for one (didn't tell which one *cough* was mine)

2. Pretty sure I've commented before on the awesome post-senior prom party. Second place to that one would have to be my 15th birthday party. It was memorable for several reasons. First of all, it was the first personal birthday party I had celebrated. (Grew up JW) Second, my dad got me a beautiful, black, 1979 Trans-Am, looked just like the Smokey and the Bandit car. (Unfortunately, it basically sat in the driveway for a year until I could drive it on my own. Once a month, I'd start it up and drive it back and forth in the driveway. Fun to drive, but only 8 MPG.) Third, my stepfather drove us all in a limo out to a 50's style diner for dinner. Finally, my best friend Robert was in charge of inviting guests to the party and he only invited one girl! She was a friend, sure, but she also happened to be someone he had a crush on. Hmmmm. Way to go, Rob! (I feel like maybe I've related this story before, too.)

3. It's like Lay's potato chips, how can I just pick one thing? First page Friday is probably the coolest thing on any blog I've ever seen. My favorite thing, though, is how you embrace your readers and treat them like friends. You respond to questions, you pull people in to discussions and you share personal struggles and triumphs. I think that's wonderful. =)

4. I'd like to visit a point about 3 months into the future so that I could pick the highest payout from a lottery in that time and play those numbers. Oh, does that not count? If I could only visit, and not interact, I'm going to have to go with early Joseph Smith. The sacred grove, the translation of the BoM, the priesthood keys, the early temple, all of that. I wouldn't want to LIVE in that period, because, frankly, I'm too soft, but I would love to witness it.

5. Already done, I think.

Karaoke seems to work because it's done in bars with alcohol to loosen inhibitions about singing in public (even for those who shouldn't be doing it) I've never witnessed it outside of a bar. Does it work? Well, I guess it works with Rock Band. I'll only sing if I'm with good friends. To use my mom's phrase, my singing makes the angels weep. Be happy to play bass, though. =)

Also, a party game would be appropriate, Julie. Balderdash, anyone? Scattergories?

I voted already. ;)

My most memorable party was my junior/senior prom. I was 17 and dated the hunky captain of the football team. (no kidding!) We didn't decorate the gym like they do now-a-days. I lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico, and a little ways out of town was a resort called Inn of the Mountain Gods. It was spectacular! I'm a tall lady--was tall even back them, but my date was already over 6 foot, so my 4 inch platform heels didn't bother us--but it bothered my sprained ankle. Ouch! Didn't stop me from dancing, though. I floated on a cloud that night. I think I still have a picture squirreled away someplace. Of course, I had the 70's big hair flowing over my shoulders, and my floor-length dress had those angle-sleeves down to my fingers that you never see today. Yes . . . that was my most memorable party, and that football captain was my first true heartthrob. *sighs*

Julie, I like everything about your blog, from the book reviews where I've found several new favorite authors, to the word count Wednesday where you keep up on course for our writing, to the First Page Friday where we are treated with real editors critiquing our works. Your blog rocks!

Number 4 . . . hmmm. I think I'd like to pop back during the medieval times and watch some jousting for an afternoon. I'd get to wear a wonderful lavender colored gown with a matching veil, and maybe a handsome knight would ask to wear a favor of mine--a beautiful ribbon plucked from my hair.

I don't do Karaoke, but I like Balderdash and Scattergories!

1. I voted for #4 under Lexie@BookBug.

2. My mother-in-law has theme parties for everything--New Years, Halloween, everyone's birthday (including her grown children and in-law children!) They are so much fun and give us all something to look forward to.

3. It's not necessarily your blog, but I'm loving the new cover for Through Love's Trials and On the Edge. (I own the books with the original covers.)

4. I would love to visit the time of the Mormon pioneers just to better appreciate my heritage.

Awesome giveaway!

1. Voted.
2. Ended up at a party where my 2 girlfriends were drinking. The most memorable part of it was trying to get my drunk friend over the wall back to her apt complex before getting in trouble. I didn't say it was good--just memorable.
3. I like the simplicity of your blog. It's not complex, not cluttered. Everything is clear and easy to find and read.
4. Even though I love reading about different times in history, I'm best suited for the here and now. Why? Because I have a true passion for indoor plumbing.
5. Already like you and follow you on FB and this blog!

1. I've already voted. :-)

2. Parties, hmmm. I'm not really a party type of person. I guess the party where friends of ours celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, and it only sticks in my mind because it happened in the last year.

3. On your blog, I like that you almost always reply to our comments. I like that personal touch. :-)

4. If I could visit one time period in history ... hmmm. So many possibilities! I'm tempted to say I'd go back to Joseph Smith's time and try to sneak a peek at the golden plates, but then I'd probably be struck dead. Maybe that's not such a good idea after all. I've always been fascinated by the account of the Jaredites, though, so I'd probably choose to go back to where they were at the seashore, building their barges and getting the sixteen small white stones. Just to see how it all worked out.

5. Hate Facebook, but I am following your blog.
