Word Count Wednesday & Character Inspiration Photos

I just have to tell you, my first author interview for Ashes Ashes was posted today.  You can read all about my inspiration for the book here.

Well, I had a bit of inspiration and motivation this week.  I found a picture of the man who closely resembles (in my mind) Bart, my main character in my new book.  Here he is:

(No infringement is intended by posting these photos, this is just my wish list if my book were ever made into a movie.)

His name is Eduardo Verastegui.  He was raised in a little village in Northern Mexico and is the son of a sugar cane farmer. He can sing and he can act.  And he would be my perfect Bart in my new novel Pocket Full of Posies.  What do you think?

As for word count, I'm finishing up the first chapter and boy, this one has been intense to write.  So far, though, I still love Bart, Colby, Claire and the Captain, so we're good.  I've written about 5000 words on this manuscript so far.

How did you do this week?

And do you ever look at pictures of people that inspire your imagination for your characters?  Why or why not?

Where did you find his picture? I've been trying to find pictures for my new manuscript and the casting site I found won't let me pin them. :(

I was looking at other pinterest boards and found him. Pure luck I think. Now I'm curious as to who your guy is Janice. :)

Did another 3,000 word this week- and I managed to hit my word count goal way early this week! Hooray! My male lead is a combination of about 5 different actors. :-)

Kasey, that's awesome! I need to make a word count goal. *sigh* One of these days my schedule won't be so crazy.

And are you going to share which five guys?

I thought the first picture was Matt Bomer from White Collar.

While I don't have a word count for the week, and I haven't hit my page goal yet, I did crest 20,000 words this week for the work so far. I'm 5 pages shy of being done editing, and six pages after that from 100 pages total. And then I just have to figure out where to go from there! So easy! It practically writes itself!

Oh, and here's who I thought Colby looked like:

Colby Granger

Jon, that is awesome! Does everyone but me make word count or page count goals? Maybe I need to get on that.

And your picture of Colby isn't that bad, actually. Thanks! :)

I think Colby Granger is right on for Julie's Colby--at least in my mind's eye, Jon.

I have no word count this week, and for the foreseeable future, either. I'm editing/rewriting my Windows of Time manuscript, and I'm not counting words with that. Can't, really. No clear way of doing so.

I've never thought about "casting" my characters. I might try to do that, just for fun. Julie, your Bart is a hunka-hunk!

Debra, revisions can be fun. Right? And I'm glad you liked my Bart. :) Now I have Elvis going through my head . . . hunka hunka burnin' love. :)
