Word Count Wednesday

There are only two more days left to enter my contest where you can win one of my titles for just following my blog and liking me on facebook, but remember, the grand prize is either a first chapter critique from a national editor (Ms. Shreditor), or the chance to have a secondary character in my next book named after you! Anyone can enter and anyone can win! Your chances are really good and I would love for you to help me spread the word.

All you have to do is become a follower of my blog, like me on Facebook, or tweet, Facebook, or Google plus about my new novel, Ribbon of Darkness, and its pre-launch Kindle price of $8.88! Easy peasy! Come on, you know you want to!

All the details are in Monday's post. Check it out!

I also wanted to announce that Ribbon of Darkness is now available as a Nook book! You can find it here

Okay, on to word count Wednesday. Well, after last week I didn't think I could top myself, and I didn't, but I'm still really happy with my progress. Most of you know I've been working on a non-fiction book that is *thisclose* to being done. While I was on vacation, I suddenly had the finishing touches come to me and I've been busy this week getting them down on paper, so to speak. It's really exciting to see this project come alive as it's been in the back of my mind for a very long time.

But I got 1970 words this week and I'm really happy with that. It's no 5000, but still worth celebrating in my book (get it? My book? Haha!). So, in order to keep the celebration going, I'm going to eat a chocolate truffle today. Just because they are heavenly and I think I deserve it.

How did you do this week? Will you be joining me in my chocolate truffle celebration? :)

I'm taking an idea that I had last year at this time and trying to write it again, in a different POV and restricting it to only 5000 words. Seeing that I have 1017 words so far, I am beginning to get the feeling that 5000 words is not enough, but I haven't given up ... yet.

*grabs chocolate truffle* Yummy, thanks!

Word count is 1500. Not great, but something. Also liked you & posted your book in my status. Good luck!

Does a Cadbury Caramel Egg count?

I've re-read my ms again. (I still love it!) I have the cover letter done, and I've started the summary. (not fun)

I also gave an old manuscript a fresh, and hopefully exciting new beginning, with the help of a pilot writer friend I know, and then edited, like, 60 pages (15,772 words so far) to bring it into single POVs and not head-jumping around. (I didn't know any better 6 years ago when I originally wrote this story.) I've learned so much ...

Congratulations on being so close to being done with your non-fiction. Sorry to hear about your last meeting with the BOD of Storymakers, though. That probably was a blast to do, huh?

Melanie, I like sharing chocolate with you! :)

Brittany, thank you! I'll get you entered into my contest.

Deb, it was totally fun being on that board. Sometimes I wish things didn't have to change, but sadly, change is the only constant. *sigh*

Thanks you guys. You made my day today!
