Word Count Wednesday (Sort Of)

I didn't get to work very much this week on my writing project.  I've mostly been getting stuff ready for Christmas, decorating, cards, and gift-giving. I'm performing in a musical number for a live nativity, so I've been practicing for that.  I also received tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert and I am so excited to go to that!  love the spirit that comes along with Christmas. Everyone just seems happier! I hope you're feeling that, too.

The other thing that has struck me this week is the organization bug. With Christmas gifts coming in soon, I've been de-junking some of our more gently used toys that still have lots of life in them, but aren't played with as much.  Boy, does that feel good to see extra things we don't need going to charity to others who can hopefully use it.

What did you do with your time this week?

We had our ward Christmas party/dinner this Saturday. Last Saturday I found out that there wasn't anyone in particular organizing it. The stressed-out bishop didn't want to stress out his wife and assign me to do it again this year. So, that left the RS president to send around the signup sheets and such. Backstory: we moved about 4 weeks ago, to a new house that was being built since June, and sitting on the edge of the desert--in another ward. The two most stressful things in a person's life is selling a house and buying a house, and we were doing both--at the same time. Add those to knowing the result of said new house would be the release of my husband's bishop calling. Stress was an understatement, but the ward Christmas dinner was wonderful, and the next day when the Stake Presidency presided and released Mike (and he became just Mike again), and everyone bore their testimonies, including me (a back-row-sitting-please-don't-stare-at-me-introvert) we knew everything was all right.

Enjoy your time listening to the MTC. The whole experience will be wonderful, I just know it!
