Word Count Wednesday

Well, this week was much better for me. I added a layer into the story during my revisions, which started the ideas flowing again and I was able to put down almost 3000 words. Can you believe it? I love it when the muse comes back.

I'm also totally psyched about my story and how close I am to being done with it. Pretty soon I'll be begging my betas to be brutal (say that fast three times) so it can be the best manuscript it can be. I can't wait!

How did you do this week?

Congratulations. The song by Dory the fish in Finding Nemo comes to mind. "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

I typed another 6,755 words this week. Oddly enough it wasn't in chronological order. I skipped ahead and wrote a couple of scenes that were begging to get down now and not wait. And because I wrote them, I had to go back and change things I had already written in a previous scenes to make them work out.

I'm glad your muse came back. Sometimes writing can be lonely (and slow) without them, huh?

I wrote two 1500 word emails to family members this week, does that count? (And yes, they were long enough that I was curious enough to throw them into Word for a word count.)

I've started reading Scene and Structure again and it's giving me the writing itch. I may have to dust off the Alphasmart and try writing on my lunch break at work.

Writing has definitely been slow for me this week, and I'd probably be stretching the truth to say I got in one hundred words. But at least I did something.

Glad you had a good week. I had a slow week--probably around 1000--but I did pass the 40,000 word count mark on my WIP, so that's something to celebrate.

I just had another look at this little update and my eyes were playing tricks on me. For a moment, I thought you'd written, "I added a lawyer into the story ..." and for a moment, I thought maybe "legal aid" had taken on a completely new meaning.

Michael there are so many good quotes from that show, but I like that one the best. :)

Debra, you seriously amaze me. Seriously. Congrats!

Jon, that totally counts and you definitely should dust off the Alphasmart! The world needs your writing.

Melanie, that's right, you did something. As Michael said, just keep swimming . . . ;)

Rebecca, that really is a reason to celebrate. You're getting so close! Congrats!

Sarah, you've got a lot going. Next week for sure, right?

Melanie, that made me laugh. Maybe I SHOULD add in a lawyer. They're always good for an evil villain, right? *runs away from all my lawyer friends* :)
