Word Count Wednesday

Okay, people, it's time to check in!

I am thrilled with how my word count went this week! I got two chapters written and even though I’m not supposed to when I’m drafting, I went back and revised the previous two chapters. I’m really excited about this story and the characters. Grace and Connor are really shaping up well.

(Of course if any of you have read my previous writing, you know I love strong women, and Grace is definitely a woman who knows her own mind, takes care of herself, but can still be feminine. Does that make sense?)

It’s just nice when the words are flowing and the scenes are filling my head. It’s like my muse knows that my writing time will soon be very limited so I’m being given a precious gift of hopefully being able to finish this story before it's gone.

How did your word count go this week?

(Did you guys know you can read the first chapter of Ribbon of Darkness here? Just checking!)

*wail* I ran into a huge problem on my story that completely negates the entire storyline, and I don't know how to fix it! No word count for me, and my brain is so weak that even the most desperate zombie wouldn't want it! *wail*

I'm at 70,132 words, up from 64K last week, and working on the last two chapters, I think. Last time I said that I added an additional ten chapters to the story. Can't do that this time if I want to keep the word count down to beginner's publishing status.

I clicked on your "here" to read your first chapter, and it couldn't find the server, what ever that meant. Okay, was that just a tease?

Sorry to hear about your storyline problem, Melanie. Just want you to know, zombies are not picky. They'll take anybody, the weaker minded the better, so watch out!

Melanie, I hope you didn't delete it this week! Haha. Can you go for a walk or swim and work it out? Can you post the storline premise and let us help you with it? We're here for you if you need us or if you just need to vent!

Deb, when I click on the link it goes right to the first chapter. Can you try again for me? And I can't believe how many words you got this week! You're amazing!

Tried it again, Julie, and it said, "Safari can't find server" just like the last three times I tried. Don't know the problem. Could be my internet server won't "talk" nicely with yours.

I clicked on the first chapter of Ribbon and it worked fine for me. Very exciting! Must be your server, Debra.

Julie, I didn't delete the story, not this time, anyway. I'm just letting it rest for a while. I have some alterations to make on my fanfic, and then I'll see about coming back to it. The whole thing's been problematic from the beginning, though.

Debra, can you click on this link, then press the "here" button on the first line? http://juliebellon.com/julies-books/

Melanie, it does my little "save every word" writer heart good to hear you didn't delete! And we all need a little walkaway time sometimes. Good luck with that! :)

Aaaaauuuugggghhhhhh!!!!! This is sooo frustrating! It didn't work for me. I copied and pasted the link to the http place and I got the same message. Couldn't you just send me your first chapter so I can read it? Huh? Pretty please? With sugar on it? (You can't see it, but I'm down on my knees next to my chair, which makes it tough to type, btw)

If you can, and will, my email addy is debraerfert@yahoo.com

We've done great this week! 7,000 words and three chapters! We love our Characters. Regi, Carter, Daisy, Chloe, Ben, and the evil Overseer of the school, Overseer Lockwood. Can't wait to see our first page up some Friday!

No words this week and probably none next week either. I have a ton of family and church things happening. Nephew (that lives with us) getting married in SLC temple next week.
