A man changed by war. The woman who loves him. And a secret that could tear them apart.

Edward Rutledge, the newly minted Viscount Carlisle, has come back from war a changed man. The echo of the battlefield and the death of his best friend Marcus haunt him to the point that he decides to break his betrothal to Charlotte---the only woman he’s ever loved.

When he’s summoned home to Hartwell Manor, he comes face-to-face with her. Slowly, her strength and love make him see that he might be able to reclaim what he thought was lost. But when word reaches him that Marcus might not have died in Spain and yet lives, Edward will do anything to bring his friend home. As the mystery deepens, however, Edward is drawn into an intrigue that forces him to confront the demons that have plagued him since he returned to England. Will he have to sacrifice everything he’s built with Charlotte in order to keep her safe?

Yes I believe in soulmates. I believe my husband is mine. We didn’t date very long before we got engaged. {a month} But we had a hard engagement or I should Heavenly Father strengthened us to be stronger as a couple. I hope this is the right place to comment!

I don't really believe in soulmates - I believe we choose our love and love our choice.

Emily, I love that--choose our love and love our choice! Thanks for commenting!

I believe in soulmates such as there are those who are right for each other, and are brought together by our Father in Heaven. This was my husband and me. So many things took place, in getting us together, which definitely had divine interaction. That being said, I do not believe that there is only one person for each of us, and no one else will work for us. I do like Emily’s statement, and feel that through loving our choice and working together, we become each other’s soul mate.

Lisa, that makes a lot of sense! We can become each other's soulmates. Love it.

I don’t believe in soulmates, but that’s just based on personal experience.

I don't believe there is only one person right for another person. I do believe you have to work to keep the love and commitment in a marriage strong.

I believe that what's meant to be will always finds way, so I think that many times Heavenly Father can help guide us in finding the person that is right for us. I also agree that we choose our love and love our choice. Ultimately it is our decision. I do think that sometimes we can feel drawn to another person, like you've known them a long time.

I believe two people can become soulmates, but I don't believe we have a predestined specific person to be our only soulmate.

I believe our souls are connected to others sometimes. Best friends, lovers, etc. I think there's more than one right person out there, but it's all in the timing.

Yes, I believe that you can have a soul mate. But not all will have one, but some people do in my opinion.
