I think I'm going to have to break down and write the first chapter of the Captain's story. It is coming to me so vividly in the details, I know I'm going to have to break my hiatus or lose it. A part of me has sort of missed the regular writing, though, so maybe that's part of it.
When you take a writing break, do you have a lot of ideas come to you? Is it because of the rest you are taking, do you think? Or the muse just likes to strike at the most inopportune time? LOL
What are you working on? How's your writing going?

Yeah, that's what has happened to me, too. I finished writing one book, rewrote parts of another this fall, and I figured that I due for a good break. But I've had this new story rolling around in my head, even after I started a historical romance (which I've shelved for a while). I wrote the first page on Saturday, and submitted it to ANWA Conference's Beginning of Book contest that will be coming up February 20-22. As of this evening I have over 4,000 words. I may not be quick, but I get to "The End" sooner or later. :)
